Prescriptions

Ordering repeat prescriptions

All repeat prescription requests should be made in writing and will be processed within 3 working days.

We have several ways to request a repeat prescription:

  • By emailing us at: bnssg.cadbury.prescriptions@nhs.net
  • Request through the NHS app
  • Through patient access
  • On a prescription request form or repeat prescription slip at the surgery
  • Via the community pharmacy
  • By completing the form below

We do not accept prescription requests over the phone.

We only accept urgent prescriptions outlined on the urgent prescription policy: CHHC Urgent Prescription Policy

Urgent requests cause delays in healthcare for other registered patients. Please be considerate of other patients and allow sufficient time for prescription requests to be processed.

You can also use 111 online or call 111 to request a urgent prescription: https://111.nhs.uk/

Queries about your medication

Our prescription clerks can deal with basic prescription related queries.

If you need medical advice or want to change your medication, you will need to book an appointment with our clinical pharmacists or a GP.

Prescription Exemption

You can fill out a prescription exemption certificate at the surgery. This will then be reviewed by the GP for their signature.

To find out if you can get free prescriptions please see this website: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/prescriptions/check-if-you-can-get-free-prescriptions/

Pre-Payment Certificates

If you have to pay for your prescriptions, you may be able to save money by purchasing a pre-payment certificate. Please find out more information here: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/prescriptions/save-money-with-a-prescription-prepayment-certificate-ppc/

Medication for Fear of Flying

We understand that fear of flying can be a significant source of anxiety; however, after careful consideration and in line with national guidelines, our practice no longer prescribes Diazepam or other sedatives for this purpose.

Instead of prescribing Diazepam, we encourage patients to explore safer and more effective methods to manage their anxiety.

Please find below our practice policy which includes ways in which you can help manage your anxiety. If you still feel you need medication for flying, then we advise you would need to consult with a private GP/doctor to obtain a private prescription.
